Danaos Corporation Takes Delivery of its Twenty Eighth Containership Vessel

Athens, Greece, Nov. 22, 2006

Danaos Corporation (NYSE:DAC) announced today that it has taken delivery of the CSCL Le Havre, a 9,580 TEU new building containership that was built at Samsung Heavy Industries. This vessel was delivered ahead of its scheduled time of January 2007. Following this delivery, Danaos' fleet is comprised of 28 containerships with a total capacity of 125,735 TEU. Danaos has on order fifteen additional containerships aggregating 75,124 TEU with scheduled deliveries up to the end of 2009, all of which are already chartered at fixed rates to major liner companies for twelve years.

The CSCL Le Harve has been chartered out to China Shipping for twelve years. Under its current fixed charter rate, it is expected to add in excess of USD 12 million in annual revenues over the next twelve years.
