Key industry profiles to speak at the BIMCO39 Annual Conference Day

The BIMCO 39 Annual Conference Day will take place in Hamburg on 29 May. The Conference is designed to target the BIMCO 39 knowledge network of young people employed in BIMCO member-companies. The programme will kick off with a Welcome Dinner on 28 May 2008.
The Conference will focus on the changes and trends in the maritime industry from both a European and an Asia-Pacific angle, as well as looking at global changes in newbuildings, education and professional development. Additional topics include industry recruitment, Port State Control, security, anti-terrorism, crisis management, communication as well as greener shipping with reference to air emissions and ballast water management.
Key industry speakers include Captain John Koster, Commanding Officer, USCG; Prof. Dr. Manfred Zachcial, Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics; Prof. Norbert Grünwald, Hochschule Wismar; Mr. Cor Radings, MTI Network; Mr. Jon Davies, Maersk Training Centre; Captain Heinrich Braun, German Shipowners’ Association; Ms. Angela Chao, Foremost Group; Mr. Robert Lorenz-Meyer, Ernst Russ; and Mr. Yudhistir D. Khatau, Varun Shipping Company as well as Mr Niels Bjørn Mortensen and Capt. Michael Elwert from BIMCO.
The goal of BIMCO 39 is to build a global shipping knowledge network and thus both members and non-members are invited to join the event.
