EURONAV SELLS 2 AFRAMAX
ANTWERP, Belgium, 13 May 2008 - Euronav NV (Euronext Brussels: EURN) today announced that the company sold two double-hull Aframaxes, the Fantasy (2002–106,560 dwt) and the Fidelity (2002–106,548 dwt), for an aggregate selling price of USD 137 million. The capital gain of this sale transaction of about USD 44.5 million will be recorded in the second half of 2008 upon delivery of the ships to their new owner. The company had purchase options on the two ships which were on bareboat charter to Euronav since 2002.

ANTWERPEN, 13 mei 2008 – Euronav NV (Euronext Brussels: EURN) kondigde vandaag de verkoop aan van twee dubbelwandige Aframax schepen, de Fantasy (2002–106,560 dwt) en de Fidelity (2002–106,548 dwt), voor een totale verkoopprijs van 137 miljoen USD. De meerwaarde op deze verkoop bedraagt ongeveer 44,5 miljoen USD en zal worden geboekt in het tweede halfjaar van 2008, na de levering van de schepen aan hun nieuwe eigenaar. De vennootschap bezat aankoopopties op deze twee schepen die sinds 2002 deel uitmaakten van de Euronav vloot onder naaktrompbevrachting.

La plus-value réalisée sur la vente est d’environ 44,5 millions USD et sera comptabilisée au cours du second semestre 2008 lors de la livraison de ceux-ci à leur nouveau propriétaire. La compagnie avait des options d’achat sur les deux bateaux qui étaient affrété en coque-nue depuis 2002.
