Intelsat Selects Globe Wireless as Distribution Partner for Global C-Band Service

Palm Bay, Florida, USA (26th Feb 2008): Today Intelsat announced the selection of Globe Wireless as a Distribution Partner of Intelsat’s Network Broadband (NBB) Global C-band Maritime service and a Virtual Network Operator of Intelsat’s Network Broadband (NBB) VSAT service.

Globe Wireless is the world leader in maritime communications end-to-end solutions, providing a complete range of services to over 8,600 ships and over 550 ship operators. Intelsat is the world’s largest owner and operator of mobile and fixed C-Band and Ku-Band VSAT satellite services, with 54 spacecraft and 8 teleports.

As a Distribution Partner of the NBB Global C-band Maritime service, Globe Wireless will offer ships "always-on" broadband access, which provides continuous bandwidth at speeds of up to 2Mbps for a fixed monthly fee.
