“These contracts are important factors and contributors to improving the quality of well construction in StatoilHydro. They also contribute to standardising completion solutions across the business units,” says Øystein Arvid Håland, senior vice president, sub-surface technology, TNE.
Six three-year contracts, each with two, three-year long options, have been awarded to Baker Oil Tools, Halliburton, Roxar, Schlumberger, Weatherford and Welldynamics. Collectively the contracts can have a duration of nine years.
The work starts 1 September 2008.
The award covers all former Statoil assets on the Norwegian continental shelf.
“The main objectives in the tender have been to maintain competition, enhance quality, keep diversity in the supplier base, flexibility and standardisation across assets to support our operative units in delivering on their targets,” says Anders Opedal, chief procurement officer.
“The objectives have been achieved and capacity is secured at very good commercial conditions,” he adds.
