22 August 2008

August 22nd, 2008, Seoul, Korea – Hanjin Shipping is pleased to announce that it is extending its Thailand feeder network by adding EMC’s TWT (Taiwan-Thailand) service, which runs between Laem Chabang and Kaohsiung on weekly basis starting from August 24th, 2008.

This feeder service, transshipping cargo from Laem Chabang via Kaohsiung, is expected to reduce the transit time from Thailand to the West Coast of the U.S. by 6 days. The company believes that shorter time will not only upgrade the competitiveness of its service but also increase the cargo volume in this trade.

Moreover, Hanjin Shipping, now with 4 different feeder services transshipping cargo from Thailand to the U.S., believes that adding this service will enable the company to accommodate the growing cargo from Thailand and also, ease the vessel space shortage problem during the peak seasons.

Meanwhile, Hanjin Shipping adds that it will continue to cooperate with other major carriers to extend the company’s feeder network.
