Maersk Line celebrates 80th Anniversary

Today, more than 90% of global trade is transported by sea. In the last 80 years, Maersk Line has been a key player and contributor in this development. Among the worlds leading liner shipping companies, with a fleet of over 500 container vessels and more than 1.9 million containers. Our extensive network complimented by over 22,000 employees, across 325 offices and 125 countries, ensures a reliable and comprehensive world wide service.

Many different factors have contributed to Maersk Line’s growth over the years but prime among these are, our passion to deliver a reliable service to our customers across the world, our development of larger and more environmentally friendly vessels, such as the Emma Maersk, and the technological advances we have made within refrigerated container transport such as Controlled Atmosphere, Super and Blast Freezer containers.

Our 80th anniversary is a great time to look back but also an opportunity to look forward - In the future, we remain committed to leading advances in our industry. We aim also to continue pursuing, a balanced and sustainable approach towards our business, trade in general, and long term economic growth.

We are proud to acknowledge this occasion and we would like to thank each one of our customers, partners and employees for the past 80 years.
