23 June 2008

OOCL is pleased to announce a new service combining our existing Jakarta (JKT2) and Penang (PEN) feeder services. The new service is called the Indonesia –Malaysia service (IMS) and will be launched on July 3, 2008 from Singapore.

The new service, comprising two 600 TEU vessels, is in response to increased customer demand between Indonesia and Malaysia. The service provides direct links between Jakarta, Merak, Port Kelang and Penang with faster transit times, while maintaining our existing feeder network linking Singapore to Indonesia and Malaysia.

Port rotation of the new service is: Singapore – Merak – Jakarta – Singapore – Port Kelang – Singapore – Penang – Singapore, for a 14-day round trip.
