RasGas celebrates first LNG cargo loading to CPC Corporation Taiwan

DOHA, QATAR - 22ND JUNE 2008

Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited II (RasGas II) and CPC Corporation Taiwan (CPC) have celebrated the first cargo loading and delivery of their 25 year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) at Ras Laffan Port. The SPA was signed in 2005 and provides for the delivery of up to three million tonnes per year of LNG to CPC which will be used to help meet Taiwan's growing gas and power requirements. The initial cargo is being delivered to Taiwan aboard the Ejnan, a RasGas LNG vessel sub-chartered to CPC.

The celebration was hosted by HE Dr. Ibrahim B. Ibrahim, Economic Advisor to HH the Emir, Secretary General-General Secretariat for Development Planning and Vice Chairman of RasGas, and Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, RasGas Managing Director (CEO). The CPC delegation was led by CPC Chairman Dr. Wenent Pan. Members of RasGas management team along with senior executives from CPC also attended the ceremony which included a tour of Ras Laffan Industrial City port facilities.

Speaking at the ceremony HE Dr Ibrahim stated, "While Qatar Petroleum and CPC have enjoyed a fruitful partnership through their shared participation in Qatar Fuels Additive Company, today's first loading marks a new milestone in the relationship between RasGas and CPC, and one that RasGas is honoured to be a part of. This sale to CPC is consistent with the RasGas vision of developing a wide international customer base with established world leading LNG buyers."

Reiterating Dr Ibrahim's sentiments the RasGas MD (CEO) stated, "I would like to extend my congratulations to all the people who have made this long term commitment and the delivery of this first SPA cargo a reality. Over the past several years RasGas has supplied approximately 1 million tons of Qatari LNG to CPC on a spot basis and has sub-chartered a RasGas vessel to CPC for the delivery of cargoes under the long term SPA. We look forward to the opportunity to expand our sales to Taiwan and to build upon our relatively new but strong relationship with CPC."

Dr Wenent Pan, CPC Chairman also commented, "This ceremony today marking the first FOB cargo loading is a milestone in the long term relationship between RasGas and CPC and while we celebrate this occasion we also look ahead to a long partnership."
