Hamburg Süd opens own representations in Guatemala and El Salvador

Hamburg, 15 December 2008. With effect from 1 January 2009, Hamburg Süd will establish its own national organisations in Guatemala and El Salvador.

Hamburg Süd Guatemala S.A., with its head office in Guatemala City will be responsible for the group's container shipping activities in Guatemala in the future. Hamburg Süd's long-standing partner in Guatemala, Transoceanicas S.A., will continue as partner and port agent in Guatemalan ports.

Hamburg Süd El Salvador S.A de C.V, headquartered in San Salvador, will be responsible for the group's container shipping activities in El Salvador.

With the establishment of Hamburg Süd Guatemala S.A. and Hamburg Süd El Salvador S.A. de C.V., the shipping group is taking account of the growing importance of both markets. At the same time, it will further improve and strengthen the relations with Hamburg Süd's customers in Guatemala and El Salvador.
