Three tankers collided in Southampton

Three tankers collided outside ExxonMobil’s Fawley marine terminal and refinery in Southampton.

A Navigazione Montanari 2003-built, 40,218 dwt chemical tanker Vallermosa collided with BW Shipping's 2007-built, 76,500 dwt Orinoco product tanker and Teekay’s 1992-built, 95,200 dwt Navion Fennia tanker.

The incident caused a minor oil spill and no-one was hurt.

Investigation is being held by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch.
