‘The bulk of the engineering work will be performed at the company’s office in Oslo, while the bulk of the actual construction and commissioning will take place in Haugesund, with support from the company’s international resource centres in Singapore and Thailand,’ says Skogseth. The mechanical work is scheduled for completion in March 2013, and four months later, in July 2013, the platform should be ready to leave Haugesund. The Gudrun platform will also contain the equipment necessary to operate the Sigrun field. Sigrun is to be developed with a subsea solution, and production will be via the Gudrun platform. Facts about Gudrun The Gudrun discovery was made as far back as in 1975, and it lies 55 km from Sleipner A. Gudrun is to be developed with a processing facility and output will be transported by pipelines to Sleipner A. The wells will be drilled with the aid of a jack-up rig. The platform will be situated in a depth of 109 meters. The principal and operator is Statoil Petroleum AS.
