Customer Advisory for the World Exposition 2010 Shanghai, China

The World Exposition 2010 Shanghai, China will be held from 1 May 2010 to 31 Oct 2010. As a result, Shanghai Maritime Safety Authority (SMSA) has imposed restrictions on certain dangerous goods:

1) From 15 Apr to 15 Nov 2010, all port terminals located in the middle and upstream parts of the Huangpu River are prohibited from handling any dangerous cargo.

2) From 30 Apr to 31 Oct 2010, all port terminals (excluding Yangshan terminals) will be prohibited from handling Dangerous Cargo as stated in the PDF attachment. (Link to attachment)

This prohibition will come into effect from 0001hrs on 30 Apr 2010, and will only end on 1 Nov 2010, 0001hrs. The export of fireworks at Wai Gao Qiao (WGQ) terminals will require local authority’s approval on a per voyage basis.

3) Port of Yangshan is not affected.

Please exercise caution when accepting prohibited Dangerous Cargo as there is no recourse when the vessel arrives between the prohibited periods.
