Cargoship ship off Mangalore, India

The 2007-built, 14,400-dwt, Chinese general cargoship, MV Asian Forest sank on Saturday July 18, 7 miles off Mangalore coast, due to turbulent weather conditions.

All 18 crew have been rescued.

The vessel was carrying 13,000 tonnes of iron ore.

The Indian Coast Guard has taken all precautions to prevent an oil spill.
