A merchant vessel reported coming under attack at 0747Z on 28 September 2010 in position 06:28S - 039:48E, approximately 40NM northeast of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This area will remain high risk for the next 24-48 hours as pirates are still assessed to be operating in the area and weather conditions are conducive to small boat operations.

Possible pirate mother ship activity on 28 September at 0940Z noted to be near position 10:11N - 057:05E, approximately 230NM southeast of Socotra Island. This area will remain high risk for the next 24-48 hours as weather conditions are conducive for small boat operations.

Mariners are warned to avoid transiting these waters if possible. If necessary to transit these waters, mariners are encouraged to use all counter-piracy measures and employ all best management practices.
