Liberation of the 2 crew members abducted in Nigeria on February 23, 2016

BOURBON announces that the two crew members abducted on board the Bourbon Liberty 251 off the coast of Nigeria on February 23, have been released and are in good health.

This news comes as a great relief to all BOURBON employees, who share the joy of the families.

For obvious reasons of confidentiality, BOURBON shall not make any further comment.


Situation in Nigeria

BOURBON confirms that one of its vessels, the Bourbon Liberty 251, was the object of an attack off Nigeria on the 23rd of February 2016. Two crew members of Nigerian and Russian nationalities are considered as abducted.

The ten other crew members are back on board the vessel in Onne port, safe and sound.

An emergency cell has immediately been set up. BOURBON is in contact with the families, and supports them in this difficult event. BOURBON will continue to disclose any new information when available and verified, but will not make any further comment.
