"Dolphin 64” bulk carrier embodies advanced design idea in terms of the followings: firstly, the perfectly-optimized hull lines, combined with the electrical fuel injection and low speed main engine , the high efficient propeller with five ultra long blades and hub vortex absorbed fins , brings about higher speed and lower discharge to produce really excellent EEDI(energy efficient design index) performance that could sustain 21% reduction rate of current EEDI baseline; secondly, the matched low sulfur oil tank as well as the ballast water treatment plant can help to comply with the emission limit and environmental protection requirements of different regions; thirdly, the specially installed X-band radar and night vision CCTV efficiently avoided blind zone for observation, ensuring a safer sail; besides, the whole wheel house is well-organized with pipes and cables arranged neatly, passenger way and space for equipment maintenance tidy and spacious.

“Dolphin 64” bulk carrier possesses outstanding performances. The trial data of the first 63,800 DWT vessel indicates that it completely conforms to the design requirements in terms of speed, deadweight, and oil consumption, etc., showing remarkable economy over other similar types of vessels in every function. Compared with 57,000 DWT vessels, it has cargo capacity increased by 8% and cargo deadweight by 11.6%, yet had oil consumption reduced by 17%; the simultaneously equipped 4 hydraulic cranes of 30 tons and 30 meters outreach could promote the highly efficient and quick loading and unloading.

“Dolphin 64” bulk carrier features the humanized design. The broad wheel house that’s matched with the floor-type glass window, the integrated and centralized layout of maneuvering console, and the chart plat equipped with ECDIS, makes it easy to master all the navigation information and convenient to command and operate the vessel; the adopted single-sided cellular materials for the ceilings of wheel house, crew’s rooms, and corridor could reduce the noise only to 52 decibels which is much lower than the standard requirements; Inspired by the design of high-speed rail and bullet train, the acrylic marble used for decorating rectangular windows creates a comfortable and elegant environment.; with the satellite television in crew’s room, they could enjoy a colorful life synchronously as other people do in the world.

The first 63,800 DWT bulk carrier is of high construction quality. With the accumulated shipbuilding modeling and management experience of many years, Chengxi Shipyard fully adopted 3D computer modeling, optimized every technical design, and ensured the proper implementation of design idea in the production; adhering to the system of “Quality, safety and environment” and the accuracy control management promoted lean shipbuilding with 70% of blocks fabrication without allowance and 88% of blocks erection on slipway without allowance; the adopted new technical method of new building process ensured the high quality and efficiency of construction by achieving integrally lifting of M/E, accommodation and fore part.
