At the beginning of the conference, Mr. Wang Yongliang, President of Chengxi Shipyard, delivered a speech. He made a statement about the ship repair business in the first half: there were total 138 vessels including two conversion projects awarded to Chengxi for repair, 20% up on a year-on-year basis, and the output value reached RMB 620 million, with a year-on-year increase of 144%, among which the conversions accounts for 30%. By analyzing the market situations of domestic ship repair industry and shipping industy, he announced that Chengxi should continue to place the focus on restructuring the ship repair productions, strengthening offshore engineering, reallocating resources in coastal areas, and developing eco-design vessels. Then, the conference participants made communications about their productions in the first half year and ship repair market trend in the second half and announced the list of high-risk owners. Finally, some discussions were conducted about updating pricing, reorganizing the quality standards and other issues of ship repair industry.
