Deputy Minister of Communications Gao Hongeng, Deputy Secretary of Shanghai Party Committee Yin Yicui, Vice Mayor of Shanghai Shen Xiaoming, Deputy Chief of Maritime Safety Section of IMO Mr. Mahapatra, Chairman of Board, Party Secretary Li Shaode, President Xu Lirong attended the delivery ceremony and boarded the vessel for a visit. Leaders of Group company, SMU and VIPs for other circles were also participated.

On Dec. 12, the 48k oceangoing training ship MV “Yu Ming”, built by China Shipping Industry, was delivered to Shanghai Maritime University at the central pier of Shanghai International Passenger Card

The “Yu Ming”, with a depth of 15.7M, LOA 192, Breadth 32, Max Draft 10,3, is the largest and most advanced ocean going training ship in the world. It can accommodate 160 trainees and load 45800 tons of bulk cargo.

The smooth delivery of the vessel symbolizes a successful cooperation between a teaching entity and an enterprise. It will certainly promote the development of China’s maritime business as well as the building of an international shipping center in Shanghai.
