CHI Delivers Two Vessels and Names One on the Same Day

On 8 August, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industries (CHI) began the naming of one vessel and delivery of two vessels on the same day. The second 24,188 TEU ultra-large container vessel built by DACKS was named, the 68,000 tons multipurpose pulp vessel No.2 built by CHI (Dalian) was named and delivered, and the "Qiuqiu", repaired by COSCO Shipping Nantong, was completed with various commissioning work and started sailing after completion.

The "Oriental Felixstowe" is the largest ship since the official commissioning of DACKS Dock No. 2. The "Oriental Felixstowe" adopts the latest environmental protection design, integrates the latest technical achievements and intelligent means, and has the features of green energy-saving, large loading capacity and intelligentisation, With its features, the vessel will significantly optimize operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, in line with the development trend of green, low-carbon and intelligent shipping industry.

The 68,000-tonne MPC vessel No. 2 "GreenKotka" is the second vessel in the series of vessels built by CHI (Dalian) for CMBC, which is the world's largest ice-class MPC vessel built and delivered domestically at present.

The vessel was originally a 20,000-tonne cement self-unloader, which was converted into a self-unloading bulk carrier with single-point loading function. This vessel is the conversion of another global advanced self-unloading and single-point loading vessel of Nantong COSCO Shipping after the CSL self-unloading series vessels.
