5 September 2023 Recently, the world's first hardened three-piece auto-rotating sail bulk carrier Pixar, which was contracted by CHI (Shanghai), has set sail. With an L*B*D size of 229m*32m*20m, PIXAR is the world's first sailing vessel to be fitted with rigid three-piece automatic rotating sails. They can be lifted and rotated automatically, adjusted according to the wind speed and direction during the running process, so that the sails will find the optimal angle. The economic and environmental benefits brought by the wing sails are considerable, simulation experiments show that WindWings can reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by 30% in the average sailing mode, such a system will provide a positive impact for the low-carbon development of global shipping. The successful delivery of this project demonstrates the strength and potential of CHI (Shanghai) in the conversion of various types of vessels. Adhering to the new trend of green, low-carbon and intelligent development, CHI (Shanghai) strives to meet the needs of customers.
