COSCO-built cylindrical deepwater drilling rig put into action in the US Gulf of Mexico

Based on a news release on the website of Sevan Drilling, Sevan Louisiana, a cylindrical deepwater drilling rig, has completed acceptance testing and commenced its three-year contract with LLOG Exploration Company in the US Gulf of Mexico on May 28, 2014.

Sevan Louisiana is the third cylindrical semi-submersible deepwater drilling rig COSCO (Qidong) Offshore has built for Sevan Drilling.

It was delivered on October 23, 2013, one week ahead of schedule.
