The 3rd of the 57,000DWT bulk carrier series being built in COSCO Guangdong Shipyard is ready to be launched. Up to now, the final launching confirmation of the stern block is carried out. The 5th of the 57,000DWT bulk carrier series had the first keel laid recently. The representatives from the ship owner, the classification society and shipyard project team witness the milestone.
The 1st first of the 57,000DWT bulk carrier series under construction in COSCO Dalian shipyard was launched on the 12th June and was named at the end of June.
In COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard, the block erection and coating work of the 5,000PCTC, being built for COSCO Guangzhou Ocean Shipping Company, has been completed and she was launched at the end of June. The 5,000PCTC is designed to have a speed of 20 knots, is 182.80m in length, 32.20m in breadth and 14.95m in depth and is classed by the NK classification society. The PCTC has a 14,500 tonnes design deadweight. There are 9 fixed and 3 hoistable decks within the main hull.
In COSCO Nantong Shipyard, the first of the 105,000DWT shuttle tankers had its keel laid on the 20th June. So far, 91 blocks have been completed (about 10,000 tonnes of steel structure). A shuttle tanker is a special type of crude oil tanker built particularly to carry oil from offshore oil platforms and other offshore oil producing installations. The shuttle tanker is designed with dynamic positioning systems and specialized loading and offloading systems.
