At the end of July N182, the fourth vessel in the 57,000 DWT bulk carrier series, was launched with the support of a launching barge in COSCO Guangdong Shipyard. So far, the underwater work on the shafting and rudder system and the watertightness testing of the cooling water system have been completed. N185, the 5th vessel in the 57000DWT bulk carrier series being built in COSCO Guangdong Shipyard, had its keel laid this August.

In COSCO Dalian Shipyard the steel cutting ceremony for the first of the 80,000DWT bulk carriers for GOLDEN UNION was held at the end of July. The 80,000 DWT bulk carrier is one of a new generation of vessels tailored for the future expantion of the Panama Canal. In order to meet its customers' different requirements, the COSCO Shipyard offers a 4 crane option for these vessels.

The third of the 57,000 DWT bulk carrier series being built in COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard has been ready for sea trial this month.
