"BALABAN" Naming and Delivery Ceremony

"BALABAN",the 57,000DWT bulk carrier being built in COSCO Guangdong Shipyard, was named and delivered to the ER Group on 9th Oct. The 57,000 DWT bulk carrier is 189.99m in length, 32.26m in breadth and 18m in depth, has a speed of 14.2 knots and a scantling draft of 12.8m. The vessel's classification society is NK.

Mr. Hasan Naiboglu, Deputy Undersecretary for Turkish Maritime Affairs, Mr. Cihan Ergenc, Chairman of ER Shipping, and Mr. Zhou Xiedong, Party Secretary of the COSCO Shipyard Group, addressed the ceremony. Mr. Cihan Ergenc expressed his satisfaction with the good service and high quality product provided by COSCO Guangdong Shipyard and expressed his wish for further cooperation. Over 200 representatives from the ship owner, NK, the local government and the shipyard witnessed the important occasion.

At the naming and delivery ceremony the Godmother of the vessel, Ms. Hale Ergenc, named the vessel "BALABAN" and broke a good luck champagne bottle on her bow.

So far, two newbuilds have been delivered from COSCO Guangdong Shipyard and ten vessels remain under construction there.

"The voyage of this vessel on international waters, which was built by the honourable Chinese shipbuilder group for our country, will be a sign of close cooperation between China and Turkey."Mr. Hasan Nailboglu confirmed the importance of the delivery of "BALABAN".

Mr. Cihan Ergenc said at the naming and delivery ceremony, "We had overcome all the problems with very good cooperation and supports to both side.
