World's Largest 500,000DWT Floating Dock taking Shape

The 130,000t lifting capacity floating dock (500,000DWT) is now really beginning to take shape: the underwater blocks of the floating dock were erected in a special temporary watertight platform at COSCO Dalian Shipyard on 20th January 2010. The dock is being built for the Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries and is by far the largest lifting capacity floating dock in the world. The new floating dock is 449m in length, 84m in breadth and 23.5m in depth.
