5000PCTC 2#, N141, Launched

The second 5000PCTC, N141, being built for COSCO Guangzhou Ocean Shipping Company, was launched in COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard on 28th March. The representatives from ship owner, NK class and shipyard attended the launching ceremony.

This 5000PCTC is the first car-carrying vessel independently designed and constructed by China. It is designed 14,500dwt, 182.80 meters long, 32.20 meters wide, 14.95 meters high and to have a speed of 20knots. This vessel has the characteristics of small type, big power, fast speed and high degree of automation.

The N141, compared with the first 5000PCTC N140, has greatly optimized the design, improved the construction process. It lasted only 9 months from its keel laying till launching. All the underwater and shell work has been completed so far. The integrity work of piping systems and carport will be commenced after launching and the generator test will be commenced after one month.
