Bulk Carrier Newbuilding

The 57,000DWT bulk carrier being built for China-Tanzanian Joint Shipping Company was towed into the floating dock in COSCO Dalian Shipyard on the 3rd April, completing the first stage of construction. Before docking, the main hull structure had almost been completed, with the main engine, auxiliary engine, steering gear and deck cranes already installed. During the ten days in dock period, the superstructure was lifted on board and the painting and coating work completed. The vessel was launched on the 17th April, 2009.Meanwhile, the 3rd 57000DWT bulk carrier built for EFSHIPPING commenced steel cutting in the same shipyard on the 3rd April.

The keel of the first vessel in the 92,500DWT bulk carriers series was laid in COSCO Dalian shipyard on the 15th April,2009. Representatives from the owner and the classification society attended the ceremony.

In COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard, "Dai Shan Sea", the fourth 57000DWT bulk carrier, had her main engine lifted on board on the 20th March. In addition, steel cutting for N179, for Goldenport Shipmanagment Ltd, another 57000DWT bulk carrier in the series, commenced on the 8th April in COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard. N163, the first 57,000 dwt carrier built for Geden Line, reached the milestone of keel laying in COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard.
