Notice of Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAF) for the Far East to the Middle East Trade

In a continued effort to provide our customers with best service, COSCO Container Lines would like to announce a FUEL ADJUSTMENT FACTOR (FAF) in the Far East to Red Sea, Gulf & India Sub-Continent Trade, which would take effect from September 1st, 2009 to September 30th, 2009.

The revised FAF is as follows:
From the Far East (except Japan) to Persian Gulf & India sub-continent
USD231 per TEU, USD462 per FEU

From Japan to Persian Gulf & India sub-continent
USD204 per TEU, USD408 per FEU

From the Far East (except Japan) to Red sea
USD309 per TEU, USD618 per FEU

From Japan to Red sea
USD356 per TEU, USD712 per FEU

The Far East area includes: Mainland China, China Hong Kong, China Taiwan, China Macao, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Brunei, Cambodia and Myanmar.
The Persian Gulf area includes: Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia (Persian Gulf Coastal), Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Oman.
The Indian Sub-continent area includes: India and Pakistan.
The Red Sea area includes: Saudi Arabia (Red Sea Coastal), Yemen, Jordan, Egypt and Sudan.
