‘Wave Sentinel’ 23 Mar 2015
The Wave Sentinel was converted in 1999 as a cable lay and multi-purpose offshore support vessel. The vessel has been designed and constructed to a very high standard and has the ability to perform a variety of offshore and subsea operations. Damen Shiprepair Brest (France) was awarded the modification of the Wave Sentinel. The yard immediately teamed up with another Damen company, Niron Staal (the Netherlands), to pre-fabricate and transport the new bulbous bow. The modification is critical as the time of exchange is very limited due to loss of production time during docking. The ‘Wave Sentinel’ was converted in 1999 as a cable lay and multi-purpose offshore support vessel. The vessel’s superintendent Timothy Lee: “Docking our ship at the yard in Brest is a new opportunity for us, as the distance between the UK and Brest is short and because of deviation we will save costs.
