Danaos Corporation Takes Delivery of its 41st Containership Vessel
Athens, Greece, June 29, 2009 - Danaos Corporation (NYSE: DAC) announced today that on June 26, 2009, it took delivery of one more containership, the Zim Luanda, expanding its operational fleet to a total of 41 containerships aggregating 165,933 TEU.
The Zim Luanda has a carrying capacity of 4,253 TEU, built at Samsung Heavy Industries and was delivered on schedule. It is 260 meters long, 32 meters wide and has a speed of 24.5 knots (about 45 Km/h). The Zim Luanda has already commenced its 12-year time charter at fixed rates immediately upon delivery.
