Delta Tankers can confirm that the tanker, Delta Poseidon has been released today by the Iranian authorities.
This is very good news and we are grateful to all those involved with securing this release.
The crew are well and pleased to be on their way after many months.
Delta Poseidon was travelling southbound through the Persian Gulf, en route from Basra, Iraq ro Agioi Theodortoi, Greece when she was seized by Iranian forces on Friday, 27 May 2022.
Delta Poseidon is currently proceeding to Fujairah anchorage for necessary inspections before resuming onward passage to her final destination (Agioi Theodoroi).
DELTA POSEIDON (IMO: 9468671), is a 157,380-dwt tanker, built in 2011 and registered in Greece.

Delta Tankers confirms that its vessel, DELTA POSEIDON (IMO: 9468671), remains anchored near Bandar Abbas, Iran.
DELTA POSEIDON was travelling southbound through the Persian Gulf, en route from Basrah, Iraq to Agioi Theodoroi, Greece when she was seized by Iranian forces on Friday, 27 May 2022.
Delta Tankers is currently in the process of conducting a crew change aboard the DELTA POSEIDON. We welcome crew members' return home and will continue to support the incoming crew to maintain the vessel. The safety and welfare of the crew remains our highest priority.
We are following the latest operational and diplomatic developments and are working closely with relevant parties to resolve the situation. Delta Tankers is hopeful that ongoing diplomatic efforts will soon lead to DELTA POSEIDON's release.

Delta Tankers confirms that its vessel, DELTA POSEIDON (IMO: 9468671), was seized by Iranian forces on Friday, 27 May 2022.
DELTA POSEIDON was travelling southbound through the Persian Gulf, en route from Basrah, Iraq to Agioi Theodoroi, Greece, at the time the vessel was boarded.
We understand that Iranian forces diverted the vessel into Iranian waters and instructed her to anchor her near Bandar Abbas.
As a company, we are concerned with the situation and are following developments extremely closely. We are working closely with relevant parties to urgently resolve this matter.
The safety and welfare of the crew remains our highest priority and we are doing everything we can to secure the crew's prompt release. We continue to maintain contact with the families of the crew members and offer our support.
