Holmfoss grounding by Alesund

Today at 13:21 local time in Norway Eimskip‘s vessel Holmfoss ran aground just outside Alesund on her southbound voyage.

The crew is unharmed and there are no signs of pollution to the environment but there are some damages to the hull of the vessel.

Rescue operations were successful and the vessel was afloat soon after the incident.

Holmfoss is now on the way to Alesund where the damages will be evaluated with the help of divers.

The vessel has now safely arrived to the port of Alesund where inspection has been made.

There are limited damages to ballast tanks that needs repair. There was no damage to cargo.

The vessel will now be discharged and cargo moved to other vessels for delivery.
