Euroferries will also be introducing an express coach service to operate between Ramsgate, Canterbury and London Victoria. Euroferries Limited commences its 2013 service by introducing a new vessel to the cross channel market, the new Austal trimaran. Looking to offer an unprecedented level of comfort compared to regular high speed craft, this unique customer focused experience is accomplished by the vessel’s unique trimaran hull, which combines the softer roll of monohulls with the low resistance, stability and carrying capacity of catamarans to deliver proven advantages over conventional designs. This design offers a range of advantages; higher speeds for same installed power, the ability to maintain higher speeds in increased wave height and reduced wake. Of most importance to the customer experience is a 56% reduced level of motion sickness compared to a 100 metre catamaran operating in head seas. Greater reductions are realised in other headings. Euroferries has entered into an agreement with global ship manufacturer Austal, securing the newly
built 102m trimaran on a long term charter agreement which will operate this high-speed service.
The Trimaran’s state of the art design offers unprecedented sea keeping capabilities, utilising the
softer roll of a monohull with the low resistance, stability and carrying capacity of a catamaran,
affording unrivalled levels of passenger comfort for travelling across the channel at speed.
The vessel will arrive in January 2013, with the service becoming fully operational between Boulogne
and Ramsgate during February 2013.
