Evergreen and China Shipping to co-operate on Asia-Europe & Asia-America trades

Evergreen Line and China Shipping Container Lines are pleased to announce that they have agreed a co-operative agreement on their Asia-Europe, Asia-Mexico-US East Coast and Asia-US West Coast services commencing June, 2009. The agreement was signed by First Vice Group Chairman of the Evergreen Group, Mr S S Lin and Chairman of China Shipping Container Lines, Mr S D Lee on 27 May in Shanghai, China.
The joint services are:
China North Europe (service code: CEM for Evergreen and AEX1 for CSCL) service with a total of eight 8,000 TEU vessels. The first vessel will be 'Xin Hong Kong 0029W' from Qingdao on 17 June with a port rotation:
Qingdao Shanghai Ningbo Felixstowe Hamburg Rotterdam Zeebrugge Hong Kong Qingdao.
Asia Mexico US East Coast (service code: AUE2 for Evergreen and AAE1 for CSCL) service with a total of eight 4,000 TEU vessels. The first vessel will be 'ITAL LAGUNA 0001-019E' from Shanghai on 15 June with a port rotation:
Shanghai Hong Kong Yantian Lazaro Cardenas New York Norfolk Savannah Miami Lazaro Cardenas Shanghai.
The two lines will share slots on the Asia-US Pacific South West Coast route:
Evergreen upgrades its Hong Kong, Taiwan-US West Coast (service code: HTW for Evergreen and AAS for CSCL) service of five 8,000 TEU vessels. The first vessel will be 'EVER CHAMPION 0571-027E' from Kaohsiung on 16 June with a port rotation:
Kaohsiung Xiamen Hong Kong Yantian Los Angeles Oakland Kaohsiung.
China Shipping upgrades its North/Central China to US West Coast (service code: CPS for Evergreen and AAC for CSCL) service of five 8,000 TEU vessels. The first vessel will be 'Xin Ou Zhou 0020E' from Qingdao on 16 June with the port rotation:
Qingdao Lian Yun Gang Shanghai Ningbo Pusan Los Angeles Oakland Qingdao.
Commenting on this latest development, Evergreen and China Shipping have stated:
"With the benefits of slot-sharing arrangements and joint services, we expect both Evergreen and China Shipping to see significantly upgraded service coverage and more efficiently utilised capacity on the crucial Asia-Europe and Asia-America trades as a result, so providing a better service to our customers."
