Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings orders a new vessel for its brand Trieste, 31 March 2016
The new vessel, which will be a sister ship to “Seven Seas Explorer”, actually under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente (Genoa), will be delivered in 2020. With about 54,000 gross tonnes and 223 metres in length, the ship will count approx. 370 spacious suites. As her sister ship, the new vessel will be built using the very latest environmental protection technologies. The interiors will be particularly sophisticated, with every attention paid to passenger comfort. “When we began conceptualizing “Seven Seas Explorer” a little over four years ago, we knew from the onset that she would be something special and make an immediate and lasting impression in the marketplace” said Frank Del Rio, President and Chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri, quoted: “For our Group this kind of results represent the best leadership confirmation gained in an industry sector dominated by a stiff competition, also technological. A reason of even greater proud is that every new order widens the temporal horizon of our yards, and we don’t have to forget this”. Fincantieri press release |
