9 September 2014 Gazpromneft-Lubricants Ltd, Gazprom Neft’s motor oil business operator, has concluded a two-year agreement for the delivery of marine lubricants to the icebreaking fleet of Russian state enterprise Rosmorport. Under the terms of the agreement the company will supply the North—West Basin, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad, Azov Basin, Azovo—Chernomorsky Basin, Astrakhan, Sochi, Petropavlovsk, Vladivostok, Far Eastern Basin, Vostok, Sakhalin and Vanino affiliates of Rosmorport. Rosmorport will be supplied with a variety of marine oils, ranging from motor oils to industrial oils, and including lubricants under the G-Energy and Gazpromneft brands. Alexander Trukhan, General Director, Gazpromneft-Lubricants Ltd, commented: “The long-term strategy of the company envisages Gazpromneft-Lubricants Ltd holding an 18-percent share of the Russian lubricants market by 2025. To that end we are, already, engaging with the most significant enterprises in this sector and developing new specialist market niches while, at the same time, extending our geographic reach in terms of product sales.”

Russian state enterprise Rosmorport operates the most significant icebreaking fleet in the world. Established to ensure the successful operation of the ports of the Russian Federation, the company has both linear and harbour icebreakers at its disposal, with a total fleet in excess of sixty vessels, including the Yermak, the most powerful diesel icebreaker in the world. The company has 16 branches, located in coastal areas ranging from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea, and including the Sea of Okhotsk, the Sea of Japan, and the Barents Sea.
