Hamburg Süd: Christening of the “Cap Jervis” in Callao

As part of a customer event, Hamburg Süd christened the "Cap Jervis" in Callao (Peru) on Monday, 8 November 2010. She is the first container vessel ever to have been christened in Callao and has a slot capacity of 4,600 TEU. Sponsor of the "Cap Jervis" was Adelgunde Christmann, wife of Dr Albert Christmann, Chairman of the Executive Board of Radeberger Gruppe KG.
The "Cap Jervis" was delivered in July 2010 at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. (DSME) in Korea. Since then she has been deployed in Hamburg Süd's service between Asia and Mexico/South America West Coast (ASPA Service).
The "Cap Jervis" is named after a location in South Australia, approximately 100 kilometres south of Adelaide.
