HMM Received Award from USCG for Pacific Rescue

On July 16th, HMM received an award from the USCG (United States Coast Guard) at the Port of Singapore. HMM was honored in recognition of its container vessel, Hyundai Unity’s support of a Coast Guard search and rescue mission.

On March 4th, Hyundai Unity rescued 10 survivors from a sinking ship located near the Philippines. At the time, Hyundai Unity was in transit from Brisbane, Australia to Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It immediately went to aid the stricken vessel which was 64 miles (approximately 115km) distant.

The crew members of the Hyundai Unity rescued all 10 survivors and rendered first aid assistance. They then delivered the rescued crew to the Coast Guard Cutter Washington for transport to Palau.
