Completion of 2,080 containership MAERSK NAMSOS

On June 4 (Wednesday), we delivered the 2,080 containership "MAERSK NAMSOS" built in Head Office & Imabari Shipyard.

Loading capacity
It is a container-only vessel with a container loading capacity equivalent to 2,086 TEU, with up to two steps of rushing bridges on the deck. In addition to loading a large number of frozen containers on hold and decks, it also supports loading of hazardous materials subject to the IMDG Code (International Maritime Dangerous Goods Transport Regulations). In addition, it is equipped with a total of three deck cranes on the deck, and it is possible to carry out cargo even in ports that do not have cargo handling equipment.

Environmental features
The propulsion performance and environmental performance are improved by applying energy-saving adducts installed near propellers, high-efficiency propellers, and hull outer plate paints that reduce friction with seawater. As a result, the reduction rate of EEDI (the amount of carbon dioxide emitted from ships when transporting a ton of cargo 1 nautical miles) from the standard values of the vessel meets the latest requirements. In addition, to comply with NOx Tier III regulations to prevent air pollution, the main unit is equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) and a selective catalytic reduction system (SCR) for the generator, as well as a ballast water treatment system and an inventory list based on the Ship Recycling Convention as an environmental conservation measure.
