Imtech Marine Group certified for new (W)ECDIS 4500
Rotterdam, 11 May 2010
Imtech has developed a new Electronic Chart Display and Information System, which will be marketed under the name ECDIS 4500. Imtech Marine & Offshore was amongst the first companies delivering ECDIS systems. The naval (W)ECDIS version of the system includes integrated Warship (W) functionality. Consolidating its leading role as ECDIS manufacturer, Imtech Marine & Offshore, recently received the certificate for the (W)ECDIS 4500 from the Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH).
Enhanced features
Enhanced features of the ECDIS 4500 are amongst others; an advanced menu structure to support manual update of data products, advanced support for position fixing and dead reckoning, route planning (ETA, speed, propulsion etc.), monitoring by intelligent anti-grounding settings, transfer of planned route to (integrated) adaptive autopilot, extensive information on chart objects like buoys cables, areas etc. The data products are also automatically shared between workstations, avoiding time-consuming chart update sessions.
Working under all conditions
The PC systems, including the network, graphic and other Imtech specific interface cards, were environmentally tested to make sure that they continue to work under most of the environmental conditions imaginable.Originating from ECDIS 3500 and Hagenuk ECDIS 2000, the long ECDIS tradition of Imtech and its navigational experience lives on in this product. As a result, ECDIS 4500 is an easy to use system, while at the same time meeting the requirements of safe navigation regulations. Full integration in Imtech’s digital bridge systems is possible providing Radar overlay and direct Autopilot control. For naval applications the WECDIS meets the challenging requirements of mission critical military navigation.
