Hans H. Lange, Electro Automation Superintendent, BW Fleet Management AS, says: “BWFM works with several companies for certain aspects of our vessels’ daily operations. Imtech’s Radio Holland is one of them, and over the years, they have proved to be a good partner. As part of regular efforts to streamline internal work processes, we decided to issue service contracts for Navigation and Communication systems, for a dedicated number of vessels, to a fixed partner. This will allow us to have a single point of contact, increase efficiency and release resources to pursue other work improvement initiatives. It was a natural choice for BWFM to invite Imtech’s Radio Holland and their Norwegian department to such a cooperation. Jan Erik Skjonsberg, Technical Manager/Radio Surveyor at the Imtech Marine/Radio Holland office in Norway, comments: “The new service agreement gives BWFM the benefits of fixed hourly rates worldwide so the company can plan its maintenance budget. We offer 24/7 support and provide quarterly reports.” Currently, Radio Holland is in the process of evaluating all the navigation and communication equipment on the 13 vessels so it can guide and advise BWFM about any upgrades or replacements that need to be carried out in the near future. “Our engineers and coordinators are working very closely with BWFM superintendents. The vessels can also contact us directly for any questions or help they need.” Profile BW Group BW Group is a leading global maritime group involved in oil and gas transportation, floating gas infrastructure, environmental technologies and deepwater production.
