19 September 2023 The Egyptian Government has announced a decision to continue applying the annual increase on all port charges. According to Decree 488/2015, there will be a continuous annual increase of 5% on all port charges, with no maximum cap, starting from the 8th of September 2023. Previously, the annual increase was also set at 5%, but with a maximum cap of 15%. However, this new decision eliminates the cap, allowing for a continued 5% annual increase each year. This means that, all port charges will increase by an additional 5%, to be added to the current 15% accumulated increment.
