July 26, 2023 Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" Line) reports that the vehicle carrier "FREMANTLE HIGHWAY" which is chartered and operated by "K" Line suffered a fire on board off the coast of Netherlands during the night of July 25 (Local time) whilst enroute from Germany to Singapore. The Owners are currently trying to extinguish the fire in cooperation with local authorities and concerned parties and they will continue to endeavour to extinguish the fire and recover the situation as soon as possible. According to the Owners of "FREMANTLE HIGHWAY", all of the crew was evacuated but sadly one crew member lost his life. We would like to express our sadness in respect of this loss and our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
