Recent orders from Asian yards will see MacGREGOR – part of Cargotec Corporation – supply proven hatch cover solutions to 15 multi-purpose vessels
In March MacGREGOR contracted orders for folding weathertight hatch covers for two series of multi-purpose ships on order at Chinese shipyards, and April saw it secure orders for a series of similar vessels from a Korean shipyard. MacGREGOR has unrivalled experience in developing marine cargo handling and offshore load-handling solutions, and is part of Cargotec Corporation, the world's leading provider of cargo handling solutions used in local transportation, terminals, ports, distribution centres, and ships.
The MacGREGOR orders comprise design and delivery of key components, which will be dispatched to the shipyards from 2009 until 2011. “These orders extend MacGREGOR’s success with the proven hatch cover technology used for this type of ship,” said Mikael Liljeström, sales manager for general cargo ships at MacGREGOR.
“An important factor of these projects is our ability to work closely with the customer at an early stage of the project. This enables us to provide the most effective and functional solution for their particular cargo-handling needs.”
