General rate increases in the Intra Euromed and Asia – Europe trades

Maersk Line would like to announce rate increases on our services from Northern Europe to North Africa and East and West Mediterranean as well as from Asia to the Mediterranean.

The trading conditions for the carriers operating in these markets are still subject to unacceptable rate levels and the situation is unsustainable in the longer term.

The rate increases are necessary to continue to operate our services with the high level of reliability our customers have come to expect from Maersk Line.

Intra Euromed
Southbound services from Northern Europe to North Africa, East and West Mediterranean.

• EUR 75 per TEU effective 15 May 2009

Asia - Europe
Westbound services from Asia to the Mediterranean, including East and West Mediterranean, Black Sea, North Africa and the Adriatic.

• USD 250 per TEU effective 1 June 2009

The increases apply to all cargo and commodities, including reefers and special equipment.
