Asia – Latin America rate restoration

Maersk Line would like to announce rate increases on our services between Asia and Latin America. The trading conditions for the carriers operating in these markets are still subject to unacceptable rate levels and the situation is unsustainable in the longer term. The rate increases are necessary to continue to operate our services with the high level of reliability our customers have come to expect from Maersk Line.
• USD 300/600 per 20'/40' container between Asia and Mexico and the West Coast of Central America. Effective 15 August
• USD 200/400 per 20'/40' container between Asia and Panama. Effective 15 August
• USD 350/700 per 20'/40' container between Asia and the West Coast of South America. Effective 1 September

The trading conditions for the carriers operating in these markets are still subject to unacceptable rate levels and the situation is unsustainable in the longer term. The rate increases are necessary to continue to operate our services with the high level of reliability our customers have come to expect from Maersk Line.
India and Sri Lanka to West Africa
• USD 250 per TEU effective 1 September 2009
The increases apply to all dry & reefer cargo and commodities.
Asia - West Africa Trade Agreement (AWATA)
As a member of the Asia - West Africa Trade Agreement (AWATA), Maersk Line would like to announce rate increases on below services to/from West Africa.
Far East to/from West Africa:
• USD 250 per TEU effective 15 August 2009
Middle East (U.A.E., Oman, Qatar, Iran, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen) & South Asia (Pakistan, Bangladesh) to West Africa:
• USD 250 per TEU effective 1 September 2009
AWATA member lines : China Shipping Container Line, CMA-CGM, Delmas, Gold Star Line, Maersk Line, Mitsui O.S.K. Line, Pacific International Line, and Safmarine.
