Rate increases in the Northern Europe and
Western Mediterranean to West Africa trade

Maersk Line would like to announce rate increases on our Northern Europe and Western Mediterranean services to West Africa effective 1 October 2009.

The trading conditions for the carriers operating in these markets are still subject to unacceptable rate levels and the situation is unsustainable in the longer term. The rate increases are necessary to continue to operate our services with the high level of reliability our customers have come to expect from Maersk Line.

Northern Europe & Western Mediterranean to West Africa

• EUR 150 per 20’ dry container
• EUR 270 per 40’ dry container
• EUR 150 per 20’ reefer container
• EUR 270 per 40’ reefer container

United Kingdom to West Africa

• GBP 130 per 20’ dry container
• GBP 240 per 40’ dry container
• GBP 130 per 20’ reefer container
• GBP 240 per 40’ reefer container
