15 March 2011

Following the recent events in Japan, ports are working at normal capacity. Due to the closures during Friday and Saturday, have we seen congestion in the ports of Tokyo and Yokohama.

We are following the authorities’ recommendations on safety matters.

There are no commercial restrictions in booking with Maersk Line to or via Japan. However services to and from Sendai, Hachinohe, and Onahama have been suspended. Depending on how the situation develops it may be decided to deviate vessels. Specific contingencies will be communicated on a vessel basis.

We are following the situation intensively. Maerskline.com will be kept updated with general updates as the situation develops.
