MOL Safety Conference 2023 Held at 4 Sites Worldwide

Aiming for 'The world's highest level of safety'

Tokyo - April 04, 2023

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that it held the "MOL Safety Conference 2023" from February through March at four locations for seafarers responsible for MOL Group's safe operation, with about 800 seafarers participating.

MOL President & CEO Hashimoto, along with many other MOL executives and staff members, took part in the conference and held spirited discussions with seafarers about the MOL Group's safe operation.

The Safety Conference has been held since 2007 with the main purpose of fostering a safety culture within the organization. Some years, MOL had to hold the conference online due to COVID-19 pandemic, but this year it was held in-person for the first time in four years.

With the theme "Be Professional! -You are the Key Person-," the same as in the 2022 safety campaign, participants exchanged opinions on safe operation from various angles, from discussions on the causes of actual accidents and injuries and measures to prevent recurrence to introduction of initiatives on improving onboard accommodation, ICT utilization, and digital transformation (DX).

MOL Group continues its efforts to pursue the world's highest level of safety.
